How to use the air float correctly
The steps to use the air float are quite simple and it is enough to follow the following recommendations:
The first step is to fill the tank always full of wine. Next we will support the stainless steel float on the surface of the wine and unscrew the existing valve in the pump to allow inflation. We will inflate the air chamber included with the tank to approximately 0,7 atm. We have to pay attention that the chamber is inflated enough to adhere to the internal surface of our tank and to be able to close the pump valve. We recommend checking the air pressure in the chamber at least once every two weeks to ensure that the chamber does not lose pressure.
If there is a case of pressure loss in the air chamber, we must check the following:
-There are no holes in the camera.
-Check that the connection between the plastic tube and the air chamber does not leak air.
-Check the pressure gauge in case it is damaged.
-Check that the pump valve is not blocked
Difference between oil seal and pneumatic seal: The pneumatic closure consists of a lid with an air valve that seals the space between the lid and the tank walls. To lower the lid to the level of the wine, the air valve must be deflated. Later, to reseal the wine, the air valve must be inflated again. The difference between the pneumatic seal and the oil seal is that it does not need a pump or valve to lower the tank cap. The gap between the lid and the tank walls is filled with oil and in this way the lid will always lower to the level of the wine stored in the tank. The disadvantage is that a small part of the deposited wine is lost since when it drops to its minimum, the oil mixes with the wine. This type of deposit is highly recommended for continued use. |
