Description
Elastic joint sealant and multipurpose adhesive, based on one-component polyurethane that cures due to environmental humidity.
Preparation
For optimal adhesion in structural bonding, for sealing stressed joints, or in cases of extreme and prolonged exposure to the elements or immersion in water, cleaning products and primers should be used on the substrates. Non-porous substrates such as glazed tiles, powder-coated metals, aluminum, anodized aluminum, stainless steel and galvanized steel must be cleaned with SIKA Aktivator-205. Before sealing, allow the solvent to evaporate (15 min - 6 h). Metals such as copper, brass, titanium-zinc must be cleaned with SIKA Aktivator-205. After a drying time of more than 15 minutes, apply SIKA Primer-3N as adhesion promoter and wait between 15 minutes and 8 hours before sealing. For PVC substrates, use Sika Primer-215 as a primer and wait before sealing (30 min and 8 h). On porous substrates such as concrete, cement coatings, mortars or bricks, prime with SIKA Primer-3N. Before sealing, allow the solvent to evaporate (30 min - 8 h).
Use
Suitable for sealing both vertical and horizontal joints, partitions, wooden and metal constructions, etc. Suitable as a multipurpose adhesive: gluing window frames, thresholds, stair treads, skirting boards, skirting boards, protection plates, etc.
Application
Ready to use. After preparing the joint and the support, place the joint backing at the appropriate depth and, if necessary, apply the corresponding primer. Insert the cartridge or sausage into the gun and extrude the product into the joint ensuring total contact with it. Fill the joint, avoiding entrapment of air. It should be smoothed firmly against the lips of the joint to ensure full contact and adhesion. For a good aesthetic finish, it is recommended to define the joint with masking tape. This will be removed before the putty begins to polymerize. It is recommended to use water and neutral soap as a joint smoothing liquid to obtain an optimal sealing surface. For gluing, after preparing the support, apply in cords or in spots on the surface to be glued at intervals of a few centimeters. Press and, if necessary, use adhesive tape or some support to hold the piece during the first hours.
