Juno Dynaoil Zinc Rich Zinc Primer
One-component zinc-rich primer based on zinc dust and cyclized rubber.
- 15/4 L.
- Colors: Gray (21.902), Aluminum (27.305)
Preparation
IRON AND STEEL. Steel surfaces must be completely clean and free from traces of paint in poor condition, dust, grease, rust and mill scale. To achieve good protection, abrasive blasting up to grade Sa 2 ½ according to ISO 8501-1 is recommended. Peeling paint coatings, mill scale, rust and foreign matter will be removed. Any remaining trace of contamination should only show up as small circular spots or stripes. Otherwise, it can be cleaned by manual means using wire brushes, scrapers, prefabricated synthetic fabrics containing abrasives and rust chipping hammers, all according to ISO 8504-3 ALUMINUM AND GALVANIZED standard. If hot-dip galvanized surfaces have been exposed to the atmosphere, they form zinc corrosion (whitish rust) and build-up of contaminants. Remove by washing with fresh and clean water with detergents and abrasive synthetic fibers, then rinse with hot water
Use
INTERIOR EXTERIOR
For the perfect anticorrosive protection of metallic surfaces in marine and industrial atmospheres. Due to its high content of zinc dust, it isolates the metal and inhibits it from oxidation by cathodic protection.
Application
BRUSH: At supply viscosity, if necessary dilute with D-16. AEROGRAPHIC GUN: Diluting 15% with solvent D-40. The exact determination of the dilution percentage will depend on the temperature, pressure of the gun, type of nozzle, etc. Pay special attention not to spray dry; the deposited layer must be damp, otherwise anchoring problems may occur. It is not advisable to paint in rainy weather or in the hours of maximum heat.
