A scaffold is a platform that is temporarily placed to perform work at height. With supports from below or suspended. The wide range of scaffolds are made of aluminum, wood or metal and as a rule they are constituted by a series of planks that are connected to each other by articulations called bolts and couplers.

The width, length and height of each element of the scaffolding varies in each building or assembly but we will find several basic measurements for each component.

Scaffolding, what are they used for?

In the process of construction of a building the scaffolding is used to provide support to the operators while they perform maintenance tasks on the outside.

In most cases, the scaffolds are designed to temporarily stay in one place and are also manufactured so that they can be transported almost anywhere due to their low weight and easy configuration.

In the market we will find different types of scaffolding whose terminology and names have to change from one manufacturer to another, but can be separated into categories according to the type of scaffolding on which you want to work, in addition to the material with which it is built as well as the weight that can support it.

To safeguard the integrity of the workers and surroundings, the scaffolds must be assembled according to the manufacturer. Following the instructions and the rules of use should not have any kind of inconvenience. On the other hand, it should be noted that a person working at a height of 3,7 meters should always have a training and a certificate that allows.

The scaffolds must be designed, assembled, modified and disassembled only by competent persons and the work must always be carried out under the direction of a specialist supervisor in scaffolding assembly.

Scaffolding types and uses

The scaffolding is used for the construction in heights, to review details, works, to paint, for facades. The aluminum scaffolding becomes a very valid and effective tool in height work.

The possibility of arriving and working at different heights is one of the main advantages of scaffolding. Another great advantage to be highlighted is that you can extend the structure either across or along as required. Once a study is available that the structure of the scaffold can be expanded in a controlled manner, this process will be carried out. Otherwise, there could be disadvantages in the structure of the scaffolding, which could cause problems and even accidents.
